Community Outreach
Community outreach plays a pivotal role in the growth and success of our hockey team. We believe that fostering a sense of community and collaboration is essential, not only for our team's development, but also for promoting women's and girl's hockey in our local area. To achieve this, we have initiated partnerships with local teams and organizations, creating a supportive network that encourages more women and girls to participate in the sport. Additionally, our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility is evident in our All-Girls Try Hockey for Free event that we hosted with Auburn, where we provided an opportunity for girls of all ages to experience the excitement of hockey without any barriers. Through these initiatives, we aim to empower and inspire the next generation of female hockey players while strengthening the bonds within our community of athletes and enthusiasts.

Girls Try Hockey for Free
Ahead of a game in Columbus, Georgia, we partnered with Auburn Women's Club Hockey and the Columbus Hockey Association to host a Try Hockey for Free clinic just for girls! More than 60 girls participated and were able to try their hand at a variety of ice hockey skills and games. The event was a huge success and a big step forward in growing the game of girl's and women's hockey. We are hoping to put on more Try Hockey for Free events in the near future!

Period Project Packing Party
The Period Project is a national movement to end period poverty and stigma. The UGA branch works specifically with those in need across Athens-Clarke County to provide menstrual products and health education. Our team joined a group of more than 50 volunteers at a period packing party, which are hosted every month. Using donated period supplies, we worked to fill specific orders for various organizations that serve women and girls across the Athens area. It was a great way to raise awareness and meet other people!
