Andrew Smith
Head Coach
Andrew “Andy” Smith was born and raised in De Pere, Wisconsin and currently resides in Georgia. Growing up in Wisconsin, Coach Smith competed in the De Pere youth hockey program and Fond Du Lac Bears GLHL program. Coach Smith has more than 20 years of ice hockey coaching experience, winning four conference championships and two sportsmanship awards. Coach Smith is a business owner and resides in Georgia with his wife Dee and their three children. Outside of the rink and coaching, Coach Smith is an avid fisherman.
Trevor Kalinowski
Assistant/Goalie Coach
Trevor Kalinowski, "Coach Kali," is originally from Commerce Township, Michigan. Growing up, Coach Kali competed with Team Mission Detroit’s AAA inline hockey program. He then began playing ice hockey as a goaltender on youth travel hockey teams, and then three seasons of junior hockey . He continued his career playing ACHA hockey at Adrian College. Coach Kali earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from Adrian College in 2020 and is currently a Ph.D. student and Graduate Research Assistant at UGA, studying Toxicology.
Morgan Alwardt
Assistant Coach
Morgan Alwardt was born in Boston, Massachusetts but has lived most of her life in Georgia. She started playing hockey at age ten as a defenseman. Coach Morgan is a University of Georgia Women’s Hockey Club Alum, and played on the team for the two years that she was in graduate school, including the team’s inaugural season. She earned a B.S. in Psychology, A.B. in Criminal Justice, before going on to complete her M.A. in Nonprofit Management and Leadership in 2024. Currently, Coach Morgan is a Puppy Advisor for Guide Dog Foundation.
Jason Alwardt
General Manager
Jason Alwardt was born and raised in Massachusetts, where he grew up playing youth ice hockey
from the age of five through Varsity high school ice hockey. He has been involved in the game for
over forty years as a player, youth coach, and now general manager. Jason resides in Georgia with his wife Sarah. Their daughter Morgan played defense for UGA, while son Ben is a goalie for University of Alabama AAU DI team. Jason also enjoys playing golf and fostering dogs with You Lucky Dog Rescue in Alpharetta, GA.
